Interviewed on the ODDcast Podcast!

Updated: Oct 13, 2021

In the past couple of months, I've been interviewed a few times on my team's podcast, the ODDcast (so called because the name of our division is 'Online Design and Development', or 'ODD' and also because, well, we can be odd?)

One of the episodes focuses on the growing number of librarians who have made a career shift to instructional design (in my team of ten, three of us are former librarians.) My wonderful colleagues Lynee Sanute and Lainie Hoffmann and I chat about resonances between librarianship and instructional design (there are more than you think!)

In the other episode, my colleague Bradon Lewis and I talk about how former learning experiences shape our teaching. It's something I think about a lot as someone who tries to ground their work in empathy--when I was learning, how did a teaching/design choice make me feel? It's just as important to recognize difference when we design learning experiences as it is to find similarities, but I do think it's always important to reflect and be as intentional about the affective dimension of teaching and learning as we can.

Here is a link to all of the ODDcast episodes. Keep an eye out for more, coming soon!
