INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER, UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO DENVER

  • Works one-on-one with faculty in the conceptual design of academic courses, including outcomes development, activity design, and cultivating intentional learning experiences.

  • Engages in continuous improvement and refinement initiatives for projects, processes, and practices related to instructional design.

  • Uses project charters, plans, milestones, schedules, and timelines using standard project management and agile methodologies to ensure course and curriculum design projects are completed on time.

  • Provides expert instructional design consultation to departments or schools for academic program designs, redesigns, and curricular evaluation.

INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER AND TECHNOLOGIST, UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO SYSTEM

  • Partners with faculty and instructional staff on the design, creation, and delivery of quality trainings and instructional multimedia.

  • Project manages the course development process for new or redesigned online courses.

  • Works in collaboration with subject matter experts to align content to learning objectives, create instructionally sound and engaging learning opportunities, and develop quality assessment tools.

  • Conducts course reviews and consultations.

  • Creates high-quality instructional materials for faculty training and self-service, including tutorial videos, eLearning modules/self-paced courses, infographics, presentations, and quick guides.

  • Facilitates faculty training sessions in-person and online, focused on academic technology tools, media development for online courses, and pedagogical topics.

  • Collaborates with members of the Online Design and Development team to identify and implement learning technologies that advance digital pedagogy and online teaching practice.

PEDAGOGY AND ASSESSMENT PROGRAM LEAD, AURARIA LIBRARY

  • Provided programmatic direction and project management for Auraria Library in the areas of pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment.

  • Project managed the library’s instruction program, which included instruction/training for approximately 400 courses each year.

  • Led course-integrated research and training sessions for all disciplines at all institutions served by Auraria Library.

  • Managed the curriculum mapping program, which provided data to inform the development of new just-in-time learning and training materials, assessments, and outreach opportunities.

  • Organized and facilitated the Education and Outreach Services (EOS) department's Community of Practice, as well as other intra-departmental professional development. This included training on Adult Learning Theory, Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity, educational technology tools (i.e., research databases, learning management systems), and organizational communication.

  • Built relationships between academic and student support services across Auraria campus and the library, including CU Denver’s Office of Faculty Development and Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR AND LIBRARIAN, UNIVERSITY OF WEST GEORGIA

  • Taught as instructor-of-record for credit-bearing research methods and information literacy courses and provided course-integrated research sessions in face-to-face and distance formats.

  • Provided extensive in-person and distance (chat, email, and through conferencing software) reference services to faculty, staff, and community patrons working across disciplines.

  • Evaluated and selected materials to support research and teaching for Asian studies, education, English, history, philosophy, and women’s studies. Assisted liaison librarians across disciplines in selecting materials.

  • Coordinated library liaison program, including:

  • Project management of a multi-year, data-driven collection evaluation and maintenance project

  • Cross-departmental collaboration to help facilitate collection development for the library (including implementing a new collection development workflow, budgeting and allocating funds, and establishing an approval plan)

  • Scheduling and leading monthly meetings of liaison librarians.
